Ben Affleck has starred in an impressive number of movies throughout his years in Hollywood, and while he surely has some fond memories, his time in Joss Whedon’s Justice League is not one of them. Affleck, who reprised the role of Batman on several occasions, starred in Whedon’s 2017 film Justice League and is now opening up about his feelings during that period of his life and the overall unpleasant experience.

After Gal Gadot spoke out about her interactions with Whedon on the Justice League set in which she claimed, “He threatened my career and said that if I do something, he will make sure my career is miserable,” Affleck recently added his two cents to the conversation, sharing that the film was the “worst experience” in conversation with the Los Angeles Times.

“It was really Justice League that was the nadir for me. That was a bad experience because of a confluence of things: my own life, my divorce, being away too much, the competing agendas and then Zack’s personal tragedy and the reshooting,” Affleck revealed, adding, “It just was the worst experience. It was awful.”

However, Affleck didn’t stop there, also noting, “It was everything that I didn’t like about this. That became the moment where I said, ‘I’m not doing this anymore.’ It’s not even about, like, Justice League was so bad. Because it could have been anything.” The 49-year-old actor made no comments about Whedon, who took over directing after former director, Zack Snyder’s, 20-year-old daughter committed suicide.

While Affleck refrained from commenting on Whedon, however, his co-star Ray Fisher, did not, calling the director, “gross, abusive, unprofessional and completely unacceptable.” Whedon recently denied all allegations made on set, specifically that he threatened Gal Gadot, saying, “I don’t threaten people. Who does that?” Adding, “English is not her first language, and I tend to be annoyingly flowery in my speech.”
