Ben Affleck has plans to stay single after his shocking split from Ana de Armas. Although the couple seemed totally loved up during their almost one year of dating, their surprising breakup news means a shift in priorities for the actor.
In fact, according to a recent report from Page Six, the actor’s current priority is being close to his children (who are based in Los Angeles). A source explained, “Ana decided she doesn’t want to live in LA and Ben wants to be close to his family. His priority is to be rooted in LA. They are in different places [in their lives].”
It sounds like these location differences put an end to their relationship, and now that it’s over, Ben’s figuring out what’s next. However, it’s starting to look like romance is not in the cards for the recently-single actor (at least not yet).

A source explained the situation to the Mirror, and it sounds like those closest to Ben are hoping that he takes a break from relationships for the time being.
The insider explained, "Ben’s friends want him to take a break from dating, work on himself and stop rushing into romances."
Apparently, the actor has a habit of moving quickly from one relationship to the next, and his friends are hoping he breaks out of this routine in the wake of his split from Ana.
The source continued, "He jumps head-first into these very intense relationships and gives them his all, but then they all implode as soon as the honeymoon’s over."
Yikes. Although all reports indicate that Ben and Ana's split was amicable, this definitely sounds like their fast-moving relationship did not end quite as happily as they'd have liked.
In fact, Ben himself is up for the challenge of staying single for some time, putting his attention back on himself and his family.
The source explained, "Even Ben accepts he would be better off being single for a while."
But there is one caveat to this resolution: According to the insider, if Ana was up for a reunion, Ben would be willing to give the relationship another shot.
"He’s going to try the single life – unless there’s some miracle and Ana comes back asking for another chance," the source explained.
In the meantime, the actor is reorienting his priorities to work on himself and spend more time with his kids. "He is really focused on prioritizing himself and his kids rather than relationships, and his friends have been joking about him taking an oath of celibacy," the insider said.
However, this friend is not convinced that Affleck will stick with the single life for long. "Whether or not he can stay single for long remains to be seen," the source added.
