Fruit can be a great way to get a boost of nutrients in your diet, especially first thing in the morning. There’s no doubt about it: having a side of fruit with breakfast can help you start your day on the right foot. Berries

If you are't getting your daily dose of berries in your diet, you should start now. Berries are "low-calorie nutrient powerhouses," according to Healthine.

One of those nutrients? Fiber. Fiber is an important nutrient when it comes to weight loss, and berries are full of it. "Research has found that for every gram of fiber we eat, we eliminate seven calories," SHAPE explains. "So consuming the recommended 25 to 35 grams daily could cancel out nearly 300 calories, enough to result in a 30 pound weight loss in one year's time."

raspberries

If you're looking to add one type of berry in particular, raspberries are the way to go. "Raspberries in particular have the best ratio of carbohydrate to fiber. Of their 15 grams of carbohydates per cup, eight are fiber," SHAPE says. Plus, "Animal studies have found that raspberry ketones prevented an increase in overall body fat and visceral fat."

Berries are also one of the easiest fruits to incorporate into your breakfast routine -- even if you're not willing to put a lot of effort into that first meal of the day. For the most part, you don't need to chop berries or do any sort of prep work before eating them (besides washing them!). It really couldn't be easier to start incorporating them into your diet.

Berries are a sweet and easy addition to morning smoothies, overnight oats, and breakfast cereals. Even if you are going for a more savory breakfast option, there's nothing better than a side of berries to round out your breakfast.

Grapefruit

However, if you are not a fan of berries, there is another fruit you can consider eating more frequently for weight loss: grapefruit. Healthline explains, "In a study in 85 obese people, eating grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice before meals for 12 weeks resulted in a decrease in calorie intake, a 7.1% decrease in body weight, and improved cholesterol levels."
