Try using lip gloss with lip-plumping ingredients like collagen or hyaluronic acid. According to Harper’s Bazaar, these ingredients absorb water and gives your lips a swollen effect. Many of the ingredients in lip plumpers act as irritants to the sensitive skin on your lips, causing them to swell.
Other ingredients to look for in lip plumpers include cinnamon, wintergreen, capsaicin (the spicy chemical in chili peppers), caffeine, ginger and menthol. However, don’t wear lip plumpers all day every day--they’re irritants and can make your lips dry and cracked when applied excessively. Many of the ingredients in this product are also allergens.
