We spoke with Emily Johnson, RD and nutritionist at JuiceReport, to learn about two late-night sweet treats you can indulge in guilt-free because they can aid in weight loss. Johnson revealed that Greek yogurt with berries and sliced apple with almond butter are some of the best options.

Greek Yogurt With Berries

Greek yogurt provides a protein-packed foundation that promotes a feeling of fullness, aiding in appetite control. The natural sweetness of berries not only adds flavor but also contributes essential vitamins, antioxidants, and dietary fiber. This combination offers a satisfying blend of creamy texture, sweetness, and nutritional benefits. The protein in Greek yogurt helps stabilize blood sugar levels, preventing the rapid spikes and crashes associated with sugary snacks.

"Greek yogurt is high in protein and low in sugar, paired with a few berries it becomes a tasty and quick snack," Johnson says. She also recommends to "add a spoonful of granola for some crunch."

Apples have a natural sweetness along with dietary fiber, promoting a sense of fullness. Paired with almond butter, which is rich in healthy fats and protein, this combination offers a satisfying and nutrient-dense treat. The protein and fat content in almond butter contribute to satiety, curbing late-night cravings without the excess sugars found in many conventional sweet snacks.

"The fiber in the apple and the healthy fats in almond butter can help satisfy your hunger without a high calorie count," Johnson notes.

Choosing sliced apple with almond butter as a late-night indulgence not only satisfies a sweet tooth but also aligns with weight loss objectives by delivering a balance of flavors and nutrition.
