Life begins at 40 – at least if the latest picture of Beyoncé celebrating her 40th birthday is anything to go by!
The Formation singer – whose birthday is officially on September 4 – proved that birthday months are definitely a thing (we knew we weren’t making it up!) as she has been celebrating turning the big 4-0 by yachting around Europe with husband Jay-Z for the whole month. We could think of far worse ways to spend a birthday month!
Naturally, Beyoncé has done her luxury Europe trip in style, wearing – and dutifuly photographing – some of the most opulent and highly enviable outfits we think we’ve ever seen. However, it was her green sequined Dolce & Gabbana mini dress that she quite deservingly posted several pictures of on Instagram on September 23 that got the most attention. And when you see it, you’ll understand why!

The paillette cocktail dress was custom-made for the singer by celeb-fave, Dolce and Gabbana, and came in a stunning green hue (i.e. the color-of-the-moment – just ask Dua Lipa if you don’t believe us) complete with floral appliqué detailing.We haven’t been able to stop thinking about how magnificent Bey looks at 40, putting women literally half her age to shame!
It wasn’t just the sequined dress that we are so crazy in love (geddit?) with, as her accessory game was just as strong. The Black Parade musician accessorized with a pink lemon slice-shaped Judith Leiber bag, Andrea Wazen shoes, and sparkling Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. Oh to have Beyoncé’s wardrobe. Oh, to be Beyoncé…
