A little known fact about Beyoncé is that she actually follows a vegan diet. Her personal trainer and nutritionist, Marco Borges, accredits this diet with Beyoncé’s ability to stay toned, lean, and fit at age 43. Keep reading for more information.
Beyoncé's Vegan Soul Food
Beyoncé felt so strongly about Broges' vegan diet plan that the two actually teamed up together to create a 22-day plant-based meal planner, called 22 Days Nutrition. In it, Borges explains that if you're imagining a vegan diet as "chewing on grass all day," you've got it all wrong.
"When you talk about soul food, the core of soul food infuses these beautiful spices and herbs working together beautifully to create really delicious dishes,” he explained. "We need to find that again. We’ve grown too accustomed to relegating and handing agency of our health over to someone else."

Vegan Diet Is The Healthy Choice
Borges explains that he got into nutrition after originally pursuing a medical degree, but quickly realizing that medicine is too reactive, rather than proactive. He says that the diet that we follow can prevent illnesses like heart disease before they develop. "[A plant-based diet is] the future of sustainability and healthcare," he says.
"The healthiest diet for us and for the sustainability of this planet is a plant-based diet. It’s the only diet in the world that’s been proven to prevent, arrest and, in many cases, revert heart disease." Seems like a vegan diet is the key to not only staying fit like Beyoncé, but to living longer and healthier too.
