Melissa McCarthy & Ben Falcone Reveal Their Secrets To A Solid Marriage

If you've seen any films starring the Bridesmaids icon, then there's a very good chance that at one point in the movie, you also saw her husband, actor Ben Falcone. The duo reportedly first met in the late 90s at a comedy and improv class in Los Angeles, began dating, and later married in 2005. Between then and the 2010s, they started a family and eventually began performing in the same movies, earning a reputation as a co-working couple.

Last year, the pair were two guests on Watch What Happens Live, and spoke to host Andy Cohen about their relationship. At one point, they were asked a question sent in by a fan, "What do you feel is the key to a long-lasting relationship?"

"I think, you know, people say 'don't go to bed angry,' I say, 'go to bed mad,' it's fine," said Ben, eliciting a large amount of laughter and applause from the studio audience.

Melissa nodded as her husband continued, clarifying that when you finally just "go to bed," you "forget what you were fighting about in the first place."

"I guarantee it works, I promise," he added, as Melissa points out that even though they rarely argue right before bed, they both agree that it's best to clear their heads with a good night's sleep rather than prolong any drama.

Fans React To Melissa & Ben's Unconventional Marriage Rule

The clip of the couple explaining their slightly unconventional views on a healthy and successful marriage quickly went viral on platforms like TikTok, mainly due to them contradicting a piece of advice couples have used for years and years.

Fans took to the comment section to praise the couple and share their adoration for their seemingly fun and creative relationship. As it turns out, their advice struck a chord with many of their fans who are also married.

"Thank you!" wrote a fan. "I've been saying this!"

"That's my advice always," added another. "Go to bed mad. You aren't mad, you're tired. It won't matter in the morning, and if it does, then it's worth fighting about."

"I love these two," commented a fan, as another wrote that the duo is their "favorite couple."
