Back in 2002, Forbes named Britney the "world's most powerful celebrity," citing her $40 million of income before taxes and fees. However, since then, it seems that the "Toxic" singer's financial situation has become stagnant, especially in comparison to other icons like Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, and Taylor Swift.

According to Forbes' recent estimates, Spears now has a net worth of $60 million, a shockingly low number in comparison to other famous singers.

The article cites the net worths of Taylor Swift ($365M), Jennifer Lopez ($150M), and Beyonce ($420M) to make their case.

These figures have raised some concern among fans of the singer, especially those who support the #FreeBritney Movement, which aims to remove Britney's conservatorship (with an emphasis on her father's control).

These concerns were amplified in the recent documentary Framing Britney Spears. Considering Jamie Spears' expansive control over Britney's life, her current financial situation cannot be seen as completely separate from the conservatorship issue.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Jamie has control over "Britney’s [redacted], business, costuming, personal, household stuff, and legal matters (touching upon entertainment, music, other business opportunities, family law issues, the litigation, trial and/or resolution of other disputes, and ongoing litigation and conservatorship matters."

He also receives a salary of $130,000 per year, according to The New York Times.

That's not all. The article adds, "He has reportedly only requested modest increases over the last eight years, but has been awarded 1.5 percent of the gross revenues from performances and merchandise connected to his daughter's Las Vegas residency."

Although we still do not know all the details of the conservatorship (and Britney has not spoken out about the issue directly), it does seem like there's a real cause for questioning the situation, especially in light of Forbes' recent estimations.
