Britney Spears and fiancé Sam Asghari have sparked fresh marriage rumors, as the 40-year-old “Womanizer” singer literally referred to the 28-year-old fitness trainer as her “husband” in not one but two Instagram posts from their vacation in French Polynesia. And understandably, the internet went *wild* as soon as she dropped the ‘H’ word!
The first hint of a secret (and we assume very private!) wedding came when Britney posted an Instagram video of some baby turtles on the beach on March 4th, with the caption: “My husband @samasghari sent me this and said: 100 baby turtles leave the hatch, only 20 make it to reefs. only one strong turtle makes it out of 100 and comes back a year later stronger than ever and hatches babies. He said these turtles represented life.”

The second clue came just a few hours later, as the popstar posted a black and white picture of Asghari (who she first met on the set of her “Slumber Party” music video back in October 2016) lying on a sun lounger in a sharp suit (a wedding suit perhaps?) with the caption: “Such an amazing pic of my husband @samasghari !!!! He’s such a hard worker and he amazes me each day with his passion for life !!!! I’m so lucky to be able to share my life with him …. HAPPY BIRTHDAY.” She finished the caption off with some emojis, and a tag for photographer @estudios_official.
Naturally a large portion of the comments were all focused on the fact that Britney referred to Sam as her husband. “Did someone say HUSBAND?” one comment read, followed by four heart eyes emojis. “She said husband not fiancé,” an observant fan wrote. “Husband?! Y’all married? Yea!! Congrats,” wrote another.

“3hrs ago he was your fiancé, and now he’s your husband? Did y’all tie the knot?” one fan questioned, in reference to her previous post where she did indeed refer to him as her fiancé. “Omg omggg you change your caption from fiance to “husband”… girlll!!!! Yasssss!!!!” another fan exclaimed, followed by six red heart emojis and the hashtag, #subtleney. “Hubby???” another fan questioned, followed by a shocked face emoji, which if we’re being honest, pretty much sums up our reaction too!
Asghari also commented on the post, but it wasn’t with the confirmation that Britney fans were so desperately longing for. Instead, he continued to tease fans, the way his rumored new wife has mastered over the years, and wrote: “I’m saying no more cake baby no more please,” followed by three crying laughing emojis. We’ll be refreshing Brit’s Instagram page obsessively for the foreseeable future until we get the confirmation we are seeking!
