We had to do a double take when we first saw the pap pictures of the Darling Buds of May actress that were released on Wednesday, June 1st, as she looked completely unrecognizable!
Kim Kardashian may have convinced many people that blondes have more fun (including her very own boyfriend Pete Davidson, who dyed his hair a matching platinum blonde color as soon as his Saturday Night Live duties were over!) since dyeing her signature raven hair, but we don’t think the 41-year-old SKIMS founder had anything to do with the Oscar-winning-actress’s new locks. Instead, Catherine’s chic blonde bob is actually down to her new role as Billie, a billionaire antiquities expert and treasure hunter in the upcoming Disney+ National Treasure TV series. And we’re already beyond excited for it to hit our screens!

Catherine was snapped filming the new TV series in New Orleans, wearing an oversized gold blouse teamed with matching trousers and carrying a white tote bag. It’s believed that the platinum blonde bob is a wig, but that doesn’t make us any less shocked by the transformation! The Disney+ series is an expansion of the hit National Treasure franchise starring Nicholas Cage, and will also star Lisette Alexis (who plays the main character of Jess, who IMDB described as “a young Latina heroine that loves a good mystery and has a knack for solving puzzles”) as well as Lyndon Smith and Zuri Reed.
If you don’t think you’re going to get used to seeing the Chicago actress as a blonde, then you’ll be pleased to hear that she is also starring as Morticia Adams in Tim Burton’s Addams Family Netflix TV series, and we can say with some certainty that she will be sporting dark locks for that role!
