Celine Dion just posted to Instagram to give fans an update on I Am: Celine Dion, a documentary about her life and career, but her post had a little more shock value than intended. The 55-year-old has been very open about her health battle with Stiff Person Syndrome, and when her Instagram post showed an old black-and-white image of the singer, fans assumed the worst, with many thinking that the post was a death announcement. Luckily, Celine is alive and well, and very excited for her new movie to release. Keep reading for more details.

Celine Dion Promotes Her New Documentary With Old Black-And-White Picture

Last week, Celine posted a black & white image of herself from earlier in her career (linked here): the singer is smiling at the camera and leaning forward on one arm as her blonde hair cascades over her shoulders. At first glance, fans thought this was a death announcement, but their fears were quieted quickly with the caption:

“Get ready!” the text under the post reads. “I Am: Celine Dion, a documentary directed by Oscar-Nominated Irene Taylor, will be released globally on @primevideo.”

The caption also includes a message from Celine herself, sharing an update about living with Stiff Person Syndrome: "This last couple of years has been such a challenge for me, the journey from discovering my condition to learning how to live with and manage it, but not to let it define me. As the road to resuming my performing career continues, I have realized how much I have missed it, of being able to see my fans. During this absence, I decided I wanted to document this part of my life, to try to raise awareness of this little-known condition, to help others who share this diagnosis."

Fans Are Shocked By Celine Dion Instagram Post: 'The Heart Attack I Got'

Fans were quick to assume the worst, but relieved once they read the caption of the post. Many shared their initial shock in the comment section, writing things like, "THE HEART ATTACK I GOT!"

"I CANNOT be the only one who had a mini heart attack when they first saw this picture," another comment reads.

"DON'T POST B&W PICTURES I HAD A MINI HEART ATTACK!" another fan wrote.

"BLACK AND WHITE nearly sent me spiraling," another fan said. "Don't do that."

"Now why would y'all use a black and white photo like..." said one person.

"Omg why did this scare me at first," said another.

"I'm very happy to know about Céline and this documentary," a final fan said. "But please do not scare us like this anymore!"
