Love is in the air for Charlize Theron, according to an insider source that reportedly spoke with US Weekly. The upcoming Fast X star, 46, is said to be seeing model Gabriel Aubry, 45. “Charlize has been hooking up with Gabriel Aubry,” the source allegedly revealed, “They’re very casual and enjoying each other.”
The Bombshell actress and Canadian model were first rumored to be dating back in 2017 after being snapped together by paparazzi. Theron denied they were romantically linked when speaking to Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live in July of that year. “I’ve never met him,” she said to Cohen, before elaborating, “I met him for, like, three seconds. Like, passing I was just like, ‘Hi!’ because our kids go to the same school.”

The Oscar winner has two adopted daughters: Jackson, 10, and August, 8, who became members of her family in 2012 and 2015, respectively. If Aubry looks familiar, he shares one daughter Nahla, 14, with Halle Berry, his ex-girlfriend of five years. You also may have seen his modeling work, as he has posed for everyone from Tommy Hilfiger and Gianni Versace to Calvin Klein and Valentino.
Although Theron and Aubry have known each other (or of each other it seems) for a while, the insider source reportedly stressed that their relationship is “nothing serious,” and the two are currently taking it slow. Fans may recall that the Atomic Blonde icon hasn’t been spotted with anyone or seriously linked to a partner since July 2015, when she and Sean Penn called it quits after a year and a half together.“It is strange for people to kind of wrap their heads around it,” Theron told Drew Barrymore in September 2020 while visiting The Drew Barrymore Show. “I’ve been on a few dates, but I haven’t dated anybody for over five years.”

Theron discussed having high standards in her romantic life with Barrymore, while also noting that she felt content in her role as a mother and wasn’t prioritizing dating at the time. “I mean, I’m open when friends of mine are like, ‘You should go on a date,’ [or] ‘You should meet this guy,’” she said. “But I feel like I’m in a place in my life where you’ve gotta come with a lot of game. … The kind of game that’s like — my life is really good, so you better be able to bring that and maybe better. Because I just won’t accept anything less.”

Theron continued, “I can honestly say this on my life: I don’t feel lonely.” She noted that once she had her children, “it’s not that it replaces something or makes you less interested in [romance] … It’s a lot of work to be a parent and part of that is at the end of the day, I get in bed and I go, ‘Oh, my God, I wouldn’t want this day to be anything different.’”
