CNN host Chris Cuomo announced that he had contracted COVID-19 at the end of March. The “Cuomo Prime Time” anchor revealed recently that he’s had a bit of a setback.

Cuomo thought he was getting close to the end of his fight against the coronavirus. During a recent prime time show, he said he tried to make it 72 hours without a fever after he stopped taking medication. This is one milestone used by doctors to determine if a person can come out of isolation at home after testing positive for COVID-19.
Cuomo said, "I got close. I got to 60 (hours). And I have to be honest, I got a little cocky," Cuomo said. "I started thinking about: 'Oh great, I can't wait. I want to get retested and then I'm gonna do this, and then I'm gonna do that.”
Cuomo told CNN’s Sanjay Gupta that his experience with coronavirus has been humbling. HE said, “It’s hard to have a fever 20 hours a day. It’s depressing.” Cuomo said that the scary thing about this virus so far is that you won’t necessarily get better in 14 days. Everyone is different. "It's not the way COVID works. The more I learn anecdotally and from the clinicians who are treating it, it comes in waves," explained Cuomo.
Since his diagnosis, Cuomo has been broadcasting his prime time show from his home, keeping himself isolated from his family. However, his wife has just tested positive with COVID-19—two weeks after he announced he was infected. His kids remain safe and thus far have no sign of the virus.
