On top of the recent bed bug fiasco happening in France, there’s one more issue that’s impacting mattresses as of late: mold. That’s right—mattress manufacturer FXI recently issued a recall for somewhere around 48,000 Novaform mattresses sold at Costco due to mold. Find all of the details below.

Costco mattresses recalled for mold

You never want mold in your home—especially in your mattress. Unfortunately for people who purchased Novaform mattresses from Costco earlier this year, that may be what they're dealing with. This is just one of several recalls on Costco products this year.

According to a statement from FXI, affected mattresses, which were manufactured in San Bernardino, California between January and April, "could have been exposed to water during the manufacturing process allowing mold to develop and posing a health risk to individuals with compromised immune systems, damaged lungs or an allergy to mold." Affected products will have dark discoloration.

The recall was issued on September 21 and includes Novaform ComfortGrande 14-inch mattresses, along with Novaform DreamAway 8pinch mattresses. These were priced at $150 to $750 and were sold exclusively at Costco, both online and at Costco stores in the San Francisco Bay area between January 2023 and June 2023.
