Meghan Markle has spoken publicly many times about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. The former actress, soon-to-be royal Duchess is a big advocate for eating healthy and being active regularly.
As Meghan makes her transition into the royal family, eyes are on her now more than ever before. But the pressure doesn’t seem to bother her much–she has the healthy eating and lifestyle down to a science. Since Meghan always looks fantastic no matter what she’s wearing, we’re all wondering–what’s her secret to losing weight and staying in such great shape?
The one dieting tip she swears by to lose weight and keep her feeling her best: eating vegan during the week.
“I try to eat vegan during the week and then have a little bit more flexibility with what I dig into on the weekends,” Meghan told Best Health Magazine.
From working as an actress to becoming a royal, Meghan is subjected to high amounts of stress and grueling work hours. Following a plant-based diet during the week is her go-to eating hack to keep her body in tip-top shape.
Eliminating dairy and meats from your diet may sound like a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be. It’s only five days out of the week. Thinking of eating vegan on weekdays as a lifestyle change, rather than a diet, will make losing the weight easier for you.
However, Meghan doesn’t focus on restriction too much. “It’s all about the balance,” Meghan told The Chalkboard.
Just like the rest of us, she’s a huge fan of pasta and bread. “I love carbs-who doesn’t love a carbohydrate?” she said.
To balance out eating green during the week, Meghan also swears by yoga and running to keep her body in the best shape possible. Pairing veganism with working out regularly is a great way to lose weight steadily.
