It’s no secret that right now, Donald Trump arguably has a more complicated relationship with the press than any other president before him.

Recently, the president called out TIME, one of today’s most esteemed publications, for the cover photo they took of him for their upcoming November 10th issue. He referred to it as one of the ‘worst’ photos he had ever seen of himself, and his complaints even led to the magazine changing its cover photo selection, emphasizing his influence over American media right now. Read more about the situation below.

President Donald Trump’s New ‘TIME’ Magazine Photo Goes Viral On Social Media

The current US president is known and remembered for a lot of things right now, as he charges through his controversial second term. Still, one of the most signature parts of his presidency and life is his look: his tan, ‘orange’ skin, his puffy blonde hair, and the serious glares he often has on his face.

Recently, TIME, one of America’s most famous magazines, declared that Trump would be their November issue cover star, where they wrote about all of the significant events and changes that have gone down in the United States since he began his second term. A little over a week ago, the cover photo for the issue was revealed and released on social media, and it caused quite a stir.

The photo depicted the 79-year-old standing outdoors in the sunlight and was taken at an “unflattering angle,” as he confidently stared off into the distance. The photo allowed readers to get a more up-close look at Trump’s genuine appearance, showing off his signature skin color, with the sun shining through his super-light hair, putting his neck, which has received a lot of negative attention in the press, on full display. Internet users wrote numerous posts about how much the magazine’s photographer “must hate him,” while others added things like, “he has a wattle!”

“He’s barely recognizable,” wrote another.

Donald Trump Complains About His Picture On Truth Social As 'TIME' Changes Their Cover

Not only did the controversial cover, which many internet users deemed 'unflattering,' whether they supported Trump or not, cause a stir amongst American citizens, but it also ticked off the president himself, and he did not hold back in publicly calling out the magazine on his social media app, Truth Social.

"Time Magazine wrote a relatively good story about me, but the picture may be the Worst of All Time," he wrote. "They 'disappeared' my hair, and then had something floating on top of my head that looked like a floating crown, but an extremely small one. Really weird! I never liked taking pictures from underneath angles, but this is a super bad picture and deserves to be called out. What are they doing, and why?"

It's not often that a political figure will publicly call out a magazine or other kind of publication for using an unflattering photo of them, but it looks like he had enough influence to encourage them to change the cover before the magazine's release date on November 10th. TIME eventually used a new photo of the president, where he's sitting at his desk in the Oval Office, looking straight into the camera, with his head strategically resting on his hands, which blocks his neck. His hair is clearly more defined as the words, 'Trump's World' are spelled out above his head, clearly displaying a cover designed to please the president.

"Did @TIME bend the knee and give Trump a new cover because he cried about the other one they did?" asked an X user, later accusing those who work for the publication of being "cowards."
