If you have stretch marks, you're not alone. Studies show that a majority of women have stretch marks, and many of them before having their first child. According to Medical News Today, "Stretch marks are long, narrow streaks, stripes, or lines that develop on the skin," and can occur for a number of reasons including puberty, weight gain, and pregnancy. There are many skincare products on the market geared towards reducing the appearance of stretch marks. This one, in particular, is highly acclaimed and you can find it right at your local drugstore!

Bio-Oil's ingredients work together to promote healthier skin. According The Dermatology Review, vitamin A helps regulate the skin's shedding process; rosemary oil helps reduce infection-causing bacteria; chamomile oil helps soothe inflamed skin; and lavender oil helps reduce skin damage with its antioxidant properties.

In addition, according to The Dermatology Review, "Because Bio-Oil smells nice, it can promote more regular skin care because the good smell acts as a reward for going through the process of applying this product. Therefore, in theory, the consumer is more likely to remember it and use it on a regular basis." This process ensures that the skin is moisturized, a key component of preventing stretch marks.
