Elle Macpherson made an epic and highly-anticipated return to the catwalk for the first time in 14 years when she opened the PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival at the Royal Exhibition Building on Monday, March 4th – and it’s like she was never gone!
The 59-year-old ageless supermodel, who celebrates her 60th birthday later this month if you can believe it, picked up where she left off 14 years ago as she strutted her stuff in a stunning monochromatic outfit by Viktoria + Woods.

The Australian supermodel proved why she was and always will be referred to as 'The Body' when she walked the runway in a chic camel-hued outfit from the brand founded by Melbourne-based designer Margie Woods. The 'fit consisted of two identical sweaters (she was wearing one, and tied another around her neck) teamed with satin pants and a floor-length coat draped over her shoulders. So chic!
For accessories, the WelleCo founder carried a dark brown bag and wore some oversized sunglasses, which she also took off mid-walk to reveal her big brown eyes. Her blonde hair was worn in an effortless center-parted down do and was mainly kept behind her shoulders, to not distract from the outfit.
The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue alum modeled a number of other stylish ensembles by Australian designers during the festival, and spoke about how "grateful" she was to be there. She reportedly told the Herald Sun: "I'm grateful to be coming home, not to be seen necessarily as an icon, but I'm grateful for my Australian heritage."
She added: "I've had such an extraordinary career that's brought me unusual and interesting experiences and I'm extremely grateful."
