The downfall of the Louisiana native's career as a daytime talk show host was quite fascinating for both fans and television enthusiasts. Her show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, was on air for an impressive 19 seasons from 2003 to 2022, winning numerous awards and getting praise from a wide variety of celebrities and notable figures. At one point, President Barack Obama even awarded Ellen with a Presidential Medal of Freedom for being an advocate for equality on her show.
However, things quickly went downhill in the summer of 2020, when a news report came out that accused the host of allowing a toxic workplace environment behind the scenes of her show, with anonymous employees stating there were lots of issues, including fear of taking medical leave, racist incidents, and more. Two years later, the comedian and her wife, Australian actress Portia de Rossi, decided to leave the United States for a spacious home in the Cotswolds region of England, not long after President Trump's re-election in November 2024.
A few months prior, she did a stand-up gig in Los Angeles, where she joked to the crowd that she had been "kicked out of show business," and mentioned how much "hate" she was suddenly facing.

For a new story on Ellen and Portia's news, an inside source told US Weekly that moving to England was an amazing decision for the 67-year-old, who is reportedly much happier in the UK alongside her wife and animals. Inside sources claimed that when she's out and about, Ellen is enjoying her time in England by taking care of farm animals and grabbing meals in local pubs alongside her wife.
"It's a different lifestyle for her," stated the source. "She's very chill and in her element."
The source also reassured any fans of Ellen's who have worried about or missed her that "those close to her have never seen her happier."
