The English actress was photographed filming scenes for The Devil Wears Prada 2, reprising her witty and wild character of an assistant to a high-profile and extremely difficult fashion magazine editor. Emily Blunt Stuns In A Jumpsuit And Red Hair While Filming 'The Devil Wears Prada 2' In New York
Over the last week, iconic actors and actresses have been stepping onto film sets in New York City to shoot the long-awaited sequel to The Devil Wears Prada, a famous 2006 comedy-drama that's based on the life of an aspiring journalist taking on an extremely demanding role as an assistant to an extremely powerful and influential fashion magazine editor. The film, which features Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci, has been a sort of cult classic over the years, and, interestingly, is believed to be loosely based on the behind-the-scenes lives of employees at Vogue, with the lead character, Miranda Priestly, being reminiscent of editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. Anne and Emily are known for playing their hardworking assistants.
Last week, the Mamma Mia actress and co-star, Anne, was seen on the streets of Manhattan, wearing chic office attire and getting in some filming, leading hardcore fans to wonder where the other beloved characters and their actors were. However, at the start of this week, the Quiet Place star finally arrived on the city set as her character, Emily, wearing a super chic, stylish outfit, and sporting a new hair color!
Emily was reportedly dressed head to toe in Dior, strutting her stuff in a structured pinstripe jumpsuit with a corset and white button-down underneath. The suit included tailored, black, and pinstriped trousers, with a coordinating black, structured corset with a subtle Dior logo poking out from underneath. The look was paired with some small black sunglasses, sleek black heels, and she was carrying a black leather bag outside an office building.
Something else that was exciting for fans of the actress and the film was seeing that she had reprised her character's red hair, which was cut into a long bob, or lob, and worn in a middle part, indicating that seemingly not too much had changed with her funny character. According to Deadline, the movie is currently slated to be released in theaters on May 1st, 2026.
Fans React To Emily's Return To 'DWP2' On Social Media
Fans were not only excited but relieved to see the mom-of-two on set in New York City, given that so far, they had only seen Meryl and Anne, and were hoping that the popular assistant character would be written into the new story. Once they saw pictures of her in character with the other two famous actresses, they freaked out on social media platforms like Instagram, writing about how excited they are about her comeback.
"That's the red hair that is iconic [for] Emily!" wrote an excited Instagram user.
"Oh my god, stop! I already love what Emily is wearing," added another.
Other fans who were worried about whether or not she was going to show up to set wrote, "Finally!"
