This year’s Emmy Awards had a lot of celebrities stepping out in unique outfits and gowns, each one trying to stand out as they tackled a different trend.
One of the most notable gown trends seen on this year’s Emmys red carpet was strapless gowns, especially more plunging ones with special silhouettes and necklines. Major stars and nominees like Sydney Sweeney, Aimee Lou Wood, and more wore these gowns, showing off their slim figures and channeling old school Hollywood glamour. Although award-winners were feeling the heat and pressure with as host Nate Bargatze jokingly encouraged short acceptance speeches, many took their time to flaunt their exquisite looks on the red carpet. Read more about how these stylish women embraced the strapless trend and how they styled their dresses below.
1. Sydney Sweeney
Sydney Sweeney, although she's had a bit of a controversial year, was a presenter during last night's Emmys ceremony and had people in awe while she wore a bright red, plunging strapless gown.
She wore a waist-cinching, strapless gown that was a bright red color, almost making it look like she was wrapped in a big, red ribbon. The plunging silhouette had layers to it and hugged her body, allowing her to show off her enviable figure. Her signature blonde hair was worn down, and she had some face-framing layers. In addition to her bombshell gown, she also reportedly had on over 100 carats of diamond jewelry, with a large diamond necklace around her neck and some flashy rings.

2. Malin Akerman
The Swedish actress was a highly anticipated guest at the awards ceremony last night, as she is one of the leading actresses in the trending Hunting Wives series on Netflix, which has gone extremely viral over the summer. Therefore, she was already going to be a standout at last night's ceremony and wore a gown that matched the vibe.
Malin wore a long, figure-hugging black gown that had a plunging neckline that nearly went down to her stomach. The dress, while simple in shape, became a standout look due to the large, flappy pink bow that came out on either side of her waist. She paired the elegant gown with some strappy high heels and left her light, blonde hair down and styled in waves.

3. Aimee Lou Wood
Another celebrity, people were excited to see what the British White Lotus star, whose signature smile and popular character, stole the hearts of many. Up for a Supporting Actress drama award, Aimee arrived at the awards ceremony dressed to the nines, in a strapless gown that was unique from the rest. Her dress, which stopped just above her ankles, paired red and pink together and had some elegant draping fabric, creating a train behind it.
The two-tone gown combined two colors that can be hard to wear together, but she made it work, embracing the gown with a coordinating pair of heels.

4. Leslie Bibb
Another White Lotus star stood out on the red carpet and had on one of the most plunging gowns of the night. Posing alongside her nominated husband, Sam Rockwell, Leslie had on a very unique black velvet gown that complemented her tall, slender frame. The gown was super curve-hugging, as she jokingly told reporters that she "couldn't breathe." The dress featured black and silver details around her torso, which made it look similar to a military jacket with buttons.
It was designed by iconic fashion designer Giorgio Armani, who passed away recently, making it more of a tribute look. She wore her famous blonde bob styled in a voluminous side part.

5. Jenny Slate
The comedic actress has been getting a lot of praise for her latest Emmy-nominated role, and is also getting a lot of praise for the super chic and elegant gown she wore last night. She wore a jaw-dropping black and white strapless dress that had solid black fabric on the top and sheer, layered white ruffles on the bottom, which cascaded out from her feet. Right under her plunging neckline was a bright red flower, adding a pop of color to the look.
Her short black hair was styled in a glamorous way with slight waves, and she kept her accessories minimal to allow her gown to do all of the talking.
