Sydney Sweeney is one of the most talked-about actresses in the world right now, and it’s not necessarily for all good reasons. However, some people are placing their feelings about her aside and admiring her latest magazine cover shoot.

The Euphoria actress has been receiving a lot of backlash after her controversial American Eagle ad campaign ended up offending numerous people. However, she’s still plugging away, posing for the cover of the Wall Street Journal in numerous chic outfits that channeled old Hollywood glamour. While her loyal fanbase stuck by her side, others weren’t too impressed to see that she had made the cover despite her practically being ‘cancelled.’ Read more about it below.

Sydney Sweeney Poses In Glamorous Dresses For The 'Wall Street Journal' Following Jeans Ad Controversy

The 27-year-old actress has been having a pretty wild year, first making headlines for splitting with her fiancé and calling off her wedding, then getting in trouble for an American Eagle jeans campaign that ended up offending numerous people.

The advertisement, which included videos and photos, did a lot of wordplay with "genes" and "jeans," with one ad stating, "Sydney Sweeney has great jeans," and a video where she does a sultry pose and states, "my body's composition is determined by my genes." The campaign ended up causing quite a lot of backlash, with people believing the ads were suggesting that people like Sydney, attractive women with blue eyes and blonde, fine hair, have the most desirable 'genes' versus others.

The Anyone But You star ended up getting 'canceled' in the eyes of many pop culture enthusiasts, who didn't appreciate her lack of response to the backlash. However, it hasn't stopped her career, as she recently posed for the latest edition of the Wall Street Journal, having a very Hollywood glam photoshoot. In the pictures, Sydney can be seen wearing retro-looking gowns and minidresses.

On the cover, she wore a silky, silver gown with large, bejeweled statement earrings and a vintage updo that made her look like an actress from the 1950s. You can see the pictures on her Instagram account here!

Social Media Reacts To Sydney's New Magazine Cover

Once pictures of Sydney's shoot with the Wall Street Journal were shared on social media platforms like Instagram, users were divided, and people had a lot to say. Some of her fans, who have stuck by her despite the jeans controversy, as well as her new fans, who started supporting her after Donald Trump gave her his seal of approval, commented a lot of praise, especially related to her looks.

"Unreal," wrote a fan on Instagram, as another commented she was "stunning."

"Love this so much," commented recent bride and former journalist, Lauren Sanchez Bezos.

"Such a gorgeous woman," wrote a fan.

Others were still angry with the blonde starlet, not able to get over her jeans campaign and other information that had come out about her since the controversy began.

"Girl, we see what you are," added a commenter.

One user went as far as to call Sydney a "flopping queen," while another wrote she was a "pick me girl."

We'll be curious to see if the actress's reputation does build itself back up over the next few months or even years, but for now, it looks like people are still divided on whether or not to support her.
