Dolly Parton & Zac Brown Release Their New Duet' Butterfly'
Last week, on September 5th, country music fans got a major treat when it was revealed that two legends of the genre, the infamous Dolly Parton and famous Zac Brown, had collaborated and released a duet together. The track, "Butterfly," marks their first duet and first time recording a song together, and it looked like a super special process.
In the song, the artists can be heard singing an inspirational ballad chorus, with lyrics like "Butterfly / You will see / You're so much stronger than you think you are / You just have to believe / You can fly / Mend your wings / Any moment you can free yourself and fly out of the darkness."
Being that the "9 to 5" singer is such a significant and impactful figure in country music, the Zac Brown Band frontman revealed just how honored and excited he was to have her featured on a track with him, opening up about the opportunity and the song's message.
"Getting to record 'Butterfly' with Dolly is a dream come true," he said in a statement, according to Today. "She's always been one of my biggest inspirations, not just as an artist, but as a person. Collaborating with her brought a whole new perspective to the song."
The artist and dad-of-four also revealed he wanted to dedicate the motivational ballad to his children, stating, "This song was written for my kids for all the challenges life brings."

The day after the single was released, the two powerhouses also put out a music video, which features Zac and Dolly in a recording studio, with the two standing side by side, singing and playing instruments. Dolly was wearing a Western-themed blouse and jeans completed with a retro-looking lace-up vest, as Zac sported a sharp hat and a coordinating vest and pants look.
Once the music video went up, fans of the artists quickly took to the comments section on YouTube to praise them for the "beautiful" duet, which they couldn't get enough of.
"A duet made in the heavens!" commented a fan. "Their voices together are pure bliss and magic for the soul."
