When you’re on a weight loss journey, sometimes it can be tough to resist a fast food meal. However, there are many people who’ve had successful weight loss journeys who were still able to enjoy fast food from time to time.

A weight loss content creator named Demi has lost 100 pounds and, in her videos, says she did it while “eating fast food all the time.” She’s made numerous helpful videos about balanced eating, but some of her most popular videos are about her fast food ordering, as she’s found a way for people to enjoy their favorite fast food items while keeping up a daily calorie deficit and losing weight. Grilled Chicken Sandwich & Mac and Cheese From Chick-fil-A

Chick-fil-A is one of the biggest fast food establishments right now, and most of the time, when you drive past one, there's a massive line wrapped around the restaurant. Luckily, you don't have to avoid it 24/7 to lose weight, and when the cravings strike, Demi's found a way to order a meal that's 570 calories and a whopping 43 grams of protein.

 

According to Demi, one of the best parts of this meal is that it "doesn't even have anything [to do] with their salads."

 

At the famous chicken restaurant, Demi orders a grilled chicken sandwich with Colby Jack cheese and bacon. Instead of getting it on a bun, she asks for a lettuce wrap. But don't worry; she still gets in some carbs by adding a small mac and cheese and some of it to the sandwich for a pretty indulgent combo.

 

If you want to prioritize protein, the mac and cheese isn't a terrible choice, as Demi notes, it has 12 grams of protein in a serving. For some extra flavor, she squeezes a packet of the restaurant's honey barbecue sauce onto it.

Egg McMuffin & Hashbrown From McDonald's

McDonald's is famous for a lot of things, but one of the biggest highlights of what they have to offer is their breakfast menu. When she's in the mood for a fast food breakfast, Demi found a way to order a tasty combo that's delicious and filling. It's also a lot lower in calories and higher in protein than her previous go-to order.

 

"In order to stay in a calorie deficit and hit my macros for the day, I order the Egg McMuffin," says Demi in one of her videos.

 

"It does come with the Canadian bacon as well and cheese. This is 17 grams of protein and 310 calories. And you don't have to skip a hashbrown. This does add an additional 140 calories and 2 grams of protein."

 

Before she lost weight, Demi would order a sugar-packed Sausage, Egg, and Cheese McGriddle, a hashbrown, and a large orange juice. So while getting breakfast from McDonald's may still seem like a treat, her new order proves there are ways to enjoy it without going overboard.
