Embarking on a weight loss journey doesn’t mean bidding farewell to your beloved coffee rituals. In fact, with a bit of creativity and mindful choices, you can still savor the rich flavors of coffee while keeping the calorie count in check. Discovering low-calorie coffee options to make at home opens up a world of possibilities, allowing you to indulge in the comforting warmth of a cup while aligning with your weight loss goals.

Fitness expert and TikTok creator Danielle Jackson (@fitwdanielle), shared her favorite morning coffee recipe that helped her lose 20 pounds while still sipping on this rich protein espresso. She calls it the cinnamon toast crunch protein espresso and it carries up to 200 calories max with 25 grams of protein.

First, she says to brew an espresso pod and use cold brew/cold coffee. Then she pours 250ml of milk into a glass (her preference is oat milk), add 1 scoop of cinnamon cereal whey, give it a good mix using a frother, add ice, add the espresso coffee and enjoy! It’s that simple.

These are small adjustments but they make a big difference when it comes to calories, additives, and toppings in your coffee. Opting for oat milk introduces a dairy-free alternative and the addition of cinnamon cereal whey not only imparts a delightful flavor but also brings a protein boost, essential for muscle repair.

She notes at the end that in order to be in a calorie deficit for fat loss, it’s important to find healthier swaps for things you enjoy. “It’s all about moderation, you can still enjoy Starbucks, but be aware of high calorie drinks.
