Florence Pugh instantly turned heads as she graced the red carpet screening of her latest film in a figure-hugging, cutout, menswear-inspired gown by Valentino. While promoting her flick A Good Person in New York City this week, the Oscar nominee, 27, stunned in the one-of-a-kind piece that featured a white, collared, sleeveless top with side cut-outs, a black tie and a long black maxi skirt.

As she posed for photos at the event, Pugh joined her co-stars Molly Shannon and Zoe Lister-Jones as well as her ex-boyfriend, director Zach Braff (who she dated for 3 years and worked with on the drama film). She also brought special guests: her equally stylish parents and grandmother. (Too cute!)

The Don’t Worry Darling star completed her ensemble with sleek black heels. To accessorize her get-up, Pugh added shimmering, tiny hoop earrings, sparkling studs and her signature silver septum nose ring as her jewelry helped emphasize the beaded details of her top.

The Little Women alum wore her blonde tresses in an intricate, elegant updo that drew more attention to her makeup look— composed of a smokey eye with sky-high lashes, radiant, rosy blush and a glossy pink pout.

Pugh’s Ex Braff Wrote The Film With Her In Mind: “I Was His Muse”

In the film (out March 24th), Pugh stars as Allison, a woman who was involved in a fatal accident, and forms an unlikely relationship with her would-be father-in-law. The film was written and directed by Braff, 47, who Pugh was romantically linked to from  2019 to 2022.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon this week, Pugh said, “I was his muse. I think also, there’s so much ease with writing a script when someone knows how you talk and how far they can push you, and what you’re capable of doing, so it was just a joy.” She added, “So much fun.”

After nearly three years together, Pugh confirmed that she and Braff ended their relationship in August of last year. In an interview with Harper’s BAZAAR, the Black Widow actress explained that the two aimed to keep the breakup as private as possible for as long as they could.

“We’ve been trying to do this separation without the world knowing, because it’s been a relationship that everybody has an opinion on,” Pugh told the outlet, speaking about their controversial 20-year age gap. “We just felt something like this would really do us the benefit of not having millions of people telling us how happy they are that we’re not together. So we’ve done that.”

Based on Pugh and Braff’s frequent social media shoutouts directed at each other, their split seems to have been amicable. When writing A Good Person, Braff gushed in a recent interview that he only imagined Pugh as the lead protagonist.

“I quite simply think she’s one of the greatest actors of her generation. She’s just magnetic,” he said. “You cannot take your eyes off of her. And it’s not just her beauty and it’s not just her acting ability; it’s that thing, that magic thing that transcends the screen, where anyone and everyone goes: I want to see whatever this person does.”
