Hoda Kotb Calls Out Jenna Bush Hager For Flirting Misunderstanding
Hoda – who announced her split from fiancé Joel Schiffman in January 2022 and has since told Jenna that she now "wants to be set up" – revealed that she tends to hold eye contact "longer than is necessary," which Jenna didn’t seem to understand, leading to some hilarious exchanges between the two.
"I think like the love language — I do acts of service. Wait, is that what it is?" Jenna said, to which the Making Space with Hoda Kotb podcast host replied: "No, no! We're talking about — no. Girl, you got off on some other weird trek. This is about flirting."
Hoda then went on to explain to Jenna and viewers that she thought flirting was one of the five love languages, seemingly in reference to the Gary Chapman book, The 5 Love Languages: The Secret to Love That Lasts, which then led Jenna to tell viewers about something she did for her husband Henry Hager, 44, which she thought was related.
"I meant was like, yesterday I went and I helped Henry hang art in his office," Jenna said, to which Hoda replied, "That's not what you're talking about. OK, I'm going to call Henry."

Viewers predictably took to social media to comment on the exchange between the friends and co-hosts, with one fan replying to a short Instagram clip from the show, which was posted on January 30th, saying, "Lol Jenna … girl that went right over your head... totally went another angle," and another adding, "Well that took a turn!" followed by four crying laughing emojis. "Jenna you crack me up," wrote another, followed by a crying laughing and a red heart emoji. "Dying! I need @hodakotb and @jennabhager as my BFFs!" exclaimed another fan. "I think Jenna didn’t know the meaning of the word flirt. I’m serious," said another.
