Ivanka Trump is currently causing a stir online after she promoted one of her latest environmental projects, which some internet users believe was inspired by Michelle Obama.

The famous businesswoman recently promoted her “profit-for-purpose” company Planet Harvest, a program working to support farmers and provide nutritious foods to families across the country, on Instagram. However, numerous internet users flooded the comment section to point out how similar her project is to Michelle Obama’s initiatives as First Lady, which is quite interesting, given the Obamas are not necessarily favored by her family. Ivanka Promotes Her 'Profit For Purpose' Company Planet Harvest On Instagram

On Friday, May 9th, President Donald Trump's eldest daughter wrote a lengthy Instagram post about her latest appearance at the Heartland Summit in Bentonville, Arkansas. She was there to talk about her 'profit-for-purpose' company that she co-founded in 2023 called Planet Harvest. Ivanka co-founded Planet Harvest with Melissa Ackerman, the company's current CEO.

According to the 'First Daughter's' Instagram caption, Planet Harvest seeks "to help reimagine the food supply chain through private-sector innovation."

"Our mission supports small farmers, increases access to fresh produce, reduces waste, and advances nutrition as a pathway to better health."

Ivanka also wrote that the company would focus on diminishing food waste by sourcing fruits and vegetables, "including surplus and overlooked crops," from farmers to grocers and using them for "Food-as-Medicine boxes" and "emergency feeding programs."

While the idea behind the charitable and environmental company sounds promising, numerous internet users couldn't help but point out how it's similar to Michelle Obama's work during her days as First Lady.

Internet Users Compare Ivanka's Healthy Food Project To Michelle Obama's Work

During her days as First Lady between 2009 and 2017, Michelle was famous for her healthy eating initiatives. Two of her most renowned projects were the "Let's Move! Initiative" and the "Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010," which provided healthier, more nutritious meals for children in schools nationwide and encouraged them to get moving. She also worked with the Partnership for a Healthier America to collaborate with private sectors and promote healthier lifestyles for Americans of all ages.

After Ivanka shared Planet Harvest's details on Instagram and pictures of her at the Heartland Summit, users began commenting on how the project echoes similar sentiments of Michelle's work. This caused a stir, as the 44th President, his family, and his actions as president have often been talked down on by her father and his supporters.

"Isn't this what Michelle Obama did as First Lady?" asked an Instagram user on Ivanka's post.

"Michelle Obama was clearly a huge inspiration to you!" commented another.

"The hypocrisy is strong in this one," wrote a user.

"Not original," commented one Instagram user.

"You are taking after First Lady Michelle Obama and all of her efforts for knowledge of healthy food."

Although some comments were from fans of the Trump family, who praised the mom of three even if she did take a page out of Mrs. Obama's book, most of them were disappointed in her and criticized her for not being "original."

"Still mimicking Michelle Obama, we see," added a user.

"Nothing original about you."
