Calling your in-laws “mom” or “dad” is usually seen as a heartfelt sign of a close relationship, but for the die-hard Donald Trump fans, hearing Ivanka, his daughter, call her father-in-law “dad” is apparently a sign of disrespect. Ivanka referred to her husband’s father, Charles Kushner, as “dad” on Instagram, and now the MAGA crew is not happy. Keep reading for more information.

Ivanka Trump Calls Father-in-Law 'Dad'

Last week, Ivanka shared a post from the U.S. Embassy of France's Instagram account to her own Instagram story. The post featured a photo of Charles Kushner with the caption, "Congratulations to our new U.S. Ambassador to France, Charles Kushner! The U.S. Senate approved his nomination yesterday." For her own story post, Ivanka added the caption: "Congratulations, dad! I am proud of you!"

This certainly ruffled the feathers of Donald Trump's followers, and it's likely stemming from the fact that this time around, Ivanka has taken a huge step back from being involved in the Trump administration. Citing that she wanted to spend more time focusing on her family, she's made it pretty clear which family she's referring to.

Social Media Reactions

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, the MAGA crowd let Ivanka know how they really feel about her post for her father-in-law. "Please refrain from disrespecting THE most revered man on Earth aside from God; your biological Father @POTUS," one person wrote.

"Absolutely insulting to our beloved @potus & all of America & the world," another agreed

"Trump doesn't need this," a third person posted. "It's not good for him."

"'Dad.' Yikes girl!" one person said.

"Barely acknowledges her father, the president of the United States, but calls this guy Dad," a final user wrote. "Make it make sense."
