Alba captioned the video, “My #papasito is about to SLAY #thyroidcancer -starting his radiation therapy mañana…#LetsGo @markdalba #yougotthis.”

The post quickly racked up over 650,000 likes and thousands of comments.
Many celebrity friends showed their support in the comments section. Gabrielle Union commented, writing, "You got this @markalba."
Harold Perrineau commented a couple of prayer emojis, and Mindy Kaling sent Alba a series of red heart emojis.

Although the actress did not provide many details on her father's condition, her father's real estate team shared a more detailed health update on their Instagram account, even revealing that Mark had recently overcome coronavirus.
The post read, "It’s about to get real personal. So, bigger things than business have been going on in the background. As a family and a team we have been dealing with health scares and some of us have had Covid and recovered. Mark in particular has battled Covid-19 and thyroid cancer (the reason he’s showing off his new neck scar) in the past few months, with some radiation on the way soon for healing. He’s positive and feeling great right now. It takes a lot to keep Mark down. Wishing our team captain ALL THE BEST as he takes care of his health in these next weeks."
