Jessica Biel is gearing up for a new role, and in the first teaser for the show Candy that was released on March 17, the 40-year-old was seen looking practically unrecognizable with a 70’s-style haircut and fresh face devoid of makeup. Biel is set to play the infamous ax murderer Candy Montgomery, who in 1980 killed her friend Betty Gore before pleading self defense.

In another still from the trailer, Biel wears her traditionally long, caramel locks in a short and curly ‘do, and while she undeniably still looks stunning there is a chilling darkness in Biel’s portrayal. The series which is set to air on May 9 will offer a flashback to the time leading up to Montgomery’s brutal murder of Betty Gore, played by an equally unrecognizable Melanie Lynskey.
The trailer shows Biel taking the stand as Montogomery, donning a thick southern accent and detailing her relationship with the deceased Gore. “We were…friends,” Biel stated on the stand, cut through with clips of the actress in varying outfits, often looking troubled as she interacted with Lynskey’s Gore.

Montgomery was involved in an affair with Gore’s husband, Allan, and the show picks up with Biel’s character having ended the romance. It was this that Montgomery used as her motive for self defense, alleging that Gore confronted her about the affair before attempting to attack her, to which Montgomery responded by dealing 41 blows with an ax.
While actress Elizabeth Moss was initially intended to play Montgomery, it’s safe to say that Biel does the role justice, completely transforming into the acquitted killer for the limited series which is set to air on Hulu. Watch the disturbing trailer here.

Jessica may not look like herself in Candy, but it’s been brought to the internet’s attention that she looks *a lot* like someone else too! As well as understandably bearing an uncanny resemblance to Candy Montgomery, as we would expect, Jessica actually looks strikingly similar to someone very close to her… her very own husband! A quick search of Justin Timberlake in the late nineties and early noughties essentially confirms this – and now we can’t unsee it!

Jimmy Kimmel mentioned the hilarious resemblance during his latest interview with Jessica, which he also shared a clip of on Instagram on May 10th with the caption: “@JessicaBiel’s hairstyle on her new show looks familiar…” And Jessica and Jimmy’s fans were all in agreement! “I was going to say do you see your husband circa 2000 because I do lol,” one fan commented. “Was thinking the same thing,” added another, followed by three crying laughing emojis. “Absolutely classic television moment,” another fan wrote.
