Jessica Chastain stopped by The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and sweetly recalled how her fellow famous friend Taylor Swift once helped her get through a heart-wrenching breakup while bonding over music.
During her December 16th appearance on the late night talk show, the Oscar-winning actress, 46, recounted the tale of their friendship’s origins and how Swift, 34, compiled a personalized playlist to soothe Chastain’s heart after a devastating split.
After this aired, Chastain’s fans and Swifties couldn’t get enough of the story and continue to react to it on X (formerly Twitter).

Jessica Chastain Recalls Taylor Swift's Special Breakup Playlist For Her On The Tonight Show
Back in 2011, Chastain said she attended the Met Gala for the first time and met Swift there. They hit it off, and that same year, the Grammy winner helped the Memory actress heal her broken heart following a breakup.
"It was the first year I was invited to the Met Ball, first year I had movies out, and we were both sitting next to each other," Chastain told host Jimmy Fallon, 49, during her segment.
"We were next to Ryan Murphy, who was just started to become successful with all his TV shows. [Swift] was so sweet. I just went through a breakup and I was talking to her about that. We went and danced together — it was such a fun night," Chastain went on.
Not long after the Scenes form a Marriage alum and "Anti-Hero" hitmaker's meeting, Chastain was delighted to find a noteworthy email from Swift nestled in her inbox.
"The next day, I had an e-mail from iTunes that said, like Taylor Swift, whatever, and I just thought it was a Taylor Swift album," Chastain continued.
The Eyes of Tammy Faye star added: "She had made me a breakup playlist that she sent me. Isn’t that the sweetest thing? … And here I thought it was like a Taylor Swift advertisement. And I was like, wait a minute? She curated all these breakup songs to send me to help me get through my breakup."
Fans on X reacted to Chastain's sweet story after the episode of the Tonight Show aired. "Isn't that so cute? I wanna know what was on it!" one wrote regarding the playlist as another tweeted: "oh to have taylor swift hand pick songs for a playlist for when im sad." Someone else replied in the thread: "its so sweet right!!!!"
One other added: "why is no one talking about jessica chastain telling jimmy fallon that when she met taylor swift she had just gone through a breakup and the next day taylor emailed jessica a break up playlist that taylor curated for her???"
During the summer leg of Swift's Eras Tour, Chastain and the "Bejeweled" singer crossed paths once again in Mexico City. Following the concert, the Interstellar actress delightedly posted a series of pictures and videos from the event, among them a candid shot of her posing with Swift backstage.
"Spamming u w really good @taylorswift Eras Tour content," Chastain captioned her August 27th post for her 5.4 million Instagram followers.

Along with Swift's epic breakup anthems, Chastain is likely also able to relate to her more wholesome and lovey dovey tracks now.
The Help star ultimately found love with serial entrepreneur and angle investor Gian Luca Pasi De Preposulo, whom she married in 2017. The couple share two children: five-year-old daughter Giulietta and 3-year-old son Augustus.
