Joe Biden Breaks His Silence Following Prostate Cancer Diagnosis On Instagram
On Sunday, May 18th, the former senator's personal office released a statement to the media that earlier this month, he had gone to the doctor to be seen after experiencing "increasing urinary symptoms," and they discovered he had a prostate nodule.
"On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone," noted the statement, as reported by NBC News. The publication also shared that the diagnosis means Biden's cancer has spread from its original site to other parts of his body.
"While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, which allows for effective management," continued the statement.
Representatives for the politician also revealed that he and his family were currently looking into the best treatment options for him with his medical team.
Once the official statement was released to the public, Biden and his wife of nearly 50 years, took to Instagram to try and comfort his supporters following his scary diagnosis.
"Cancer touches us all," wrote the 46th President of the United States.
"Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places. Thank you for lifting us up with love and support."

After the former president broke his silence following the news of his illness, many internet users, whether they were loyal supporters or simply upset Americans, flooded the comment section under his post with messages to provide messages of gratitude and support, wanting the father-of-four to know they're "sending love and healing."

Besides American citizens and internet users, politicians, from former President Barack Obama to current President Donald Trump, weighed in on Biden's grim health update.
"Michelle and I are thinking of the entire Biden family," wrote Barack Obama on X.
"Nobody has done more to find breakthrough treatments for cancer in all its forms than Joe, and I am certain he will fight this challenge with his trademark resolve and grace."
Donald Trump posted a message on behalf of himself and his wife, First Lady Melania Trump on his social media platform Truth Social, writing they were "saddened to hear about Joe Biden's recent medical diagnosis."
"We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery," he continued.
Many are awaiting more updates on the 82-year-old's health, but for now, it's safe to say that he has many people in his corner as he begins treatment.
