The cutout trend has had many different forms over the past few seasons. From subtle cutout detailing in swimsuits to much racier cutouts found in dresses (this red hot Nina Dobrev one and this black Kylie Jenner piece both still live rent free in our minds) we thought we had seen it all!
Until, of course, the latest stomach cutout trend started presenting itself on social media and the red carpet, with Julia Garner being the latest celebrity to rock it! If anyone’s going to convince us to give it a go, we think Julia might be the one to do it!

The 28-year-old Inventing Anna actress turned heads when she walked the red carpet for the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards on Monday, September 12th, as her long-sleeved velvet Gucci number was a little unconventional and unexpected to say the least, largely due to the diamond shaped stomach-exposing cut-out in the middle. Even if people can't get past the cutout, the rest of the dress was as stunning as we would expect from a Gucci piece, especially thanks to its intricate floral detailing.

The award-winning actress clearly wanted to make a statement on the red carpet, as she was up for two awards on Monday night, taking home the Emmy for 'Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series' for her role as Ruth Langmore in Ozark. She was also up for the 'Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series orMovie' award for her role as Anna Sorokin (aka Anna Delvey) in Netflix's Inventing Anna, but lost out to Amanda Seyfried, who won the gong for her role as Elizabeth Holmes in The Dropout.
Julia went bold and daring with the rest of her look too, wearing her hair in a glamorous voluminous curly updo, and opting for dark, smokey eye makeup which made her piercing blue eyes well and truly pop! Blinding Swarovski earrings and sky high nude platform heels completed her show-stopping look!
