Kamala Harris Slams Joe Biden
Harris wrote that in the months leading up to the beginning of campaign time, she considered recommending to the president that he not run for a second term. But, as his likely replacement, she felt a bit awkward, and didn't want Biden to think the suggestion was "self serving."
"'It's Joe and Jill's decision.' We all set that, like a mantra, as if we'd all be hypnotized," she wrote. "Was it grace, or was it recklessness? In retrospect, I think it was recklessness."
She also added that she thought the stakes were too high to be leaving the choice up to a simple matter of "an individual's ego."
"It should have been more than a personal decision," she said. "As loyal as I am to President Biden, I am more loyal to my country."
