Kate Middleton Speaks On Her Cancer Journey
The Princess of Wales sadly had to miss the Royal Ascot on June 18th, and many royal fans were speculating over why she wasn't in attendance. However, in a recent engagement at Colchester Hospital in Essex on July 2, Kate revealed that her health journey is far from over.
At the hospital, Kate visited the well-being garden, speaking to patients and staff about her own cancer journey. "You put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment," she explained. "Treatment's done, then it's like, 'I can crack on, get back to normal,' but actually, the phase afterwards is really, really difficult."
An Update On Her Health
In a rare moment of sharing some personal details about her cancer battle, Kate continued, saying, "You're not necessarily under the clinical team any longer, but you're not able to function normally at home as you perhaps once used to. And actually, someone to help talk you through that, show you and guide you through that sort of phase that comes after treatment, I think is really valuable."
"You have to find your new normal and that takes time," she added. "And it's a roller coaster, it's not smooth, like you expect it to be. But the reality is you go through hard times." While Kate has officially returned to her royal duties, this was likely her way of telling her fans that she's trying her best, it's just not always easy.
