Kate Middleton was recently the victim of a shocking crime, as a hospital worker recently stole her medical records related to her cancer journey.
Over a year after announcing she was in remission, the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK released a statement earlier this week that they had concluded an investigation related to a hospital worker attempting to steal information from the Princess of Wales’ medical records. The goal was reportedly to sell the future queen’s information, given she still has not revealed to the world exactly what kind of cancer she had. Read more about the situation below.

Investigation Into Kate Middleton's Stolen Medical Records Concludes
The Princess of Wales had the world surprised and supporting her between 2024 and 2025, as she disappeared from the public eye for an extended period before revealing that she was undergoing treatment for cancer.
In an emotional video shared to the world in March 2024, Kate explained that she underwent "major abdominal surgery in London" earlier that year, where "tests after the operation found cancer had been present." She then explained she was undergoing chemotherapy treatment, and remained optimistic. However, she never revealed exactly what type of cancer she had, even when she went into remission last year, leaving the world curious.
So curious, that, as reported by the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in an official statement, a hospital worker attempted to steal and sell the future queen's medical records to malicious third parties, likely with the intention of making money off of revealing what kind of cancer she had.

The Hospital Worker Was Reportedly Fired
The news came as a shock to some loyal fans of the royal family, given their reputation for being so secure and tight-lipped on certain matters. However, there seemed to be a major breach and violation, which could've taken a darker turn if not investigated.
"The conduct involved the deliberate misuse of highly sensitive personal information and an offer to disclose it for financial gain, representing a clear breach of trust," wrote the ICO in its statement.
As imagined, the hospital worker has been facing the consequences. As reported by the Mirror, they were initially given a "formal caution" before officially being terminated following the investigation. Their plan did not seem to work, as the type of cancer the 44-year-old received treatment for still hasn't been confirmed.
For now, fans and supporters seem to be relieved that her information is safe.
