Oftentimes, when we see members of the royal family together out in public, they tend to keep to themselves, not showing many displays of affection. They often have to follow protocol and stick to their traditional, more conservative royal etiquette, keeping traditions of the monarchy alive. Last week, the public got to see more interactions between members of the royal family, as many of them came together for the funeral of Katherine, Duchess of Kent, on September 16th. The Duchess passed away at 92 years old earlier this month, and given her status and contributions, significant members of the royal family arrived at the Westminster Cathedral in London to honor her during her funeral service.
The Prince and Princess of Wales left behind King Charles and Queen Camilla, so many media outlets had their cameras pointed at them as the king and queen began heading out.
In a moment of genuine affection for her father-in-law, after Charles returned to his car, Kate first said goodbye to him with two gentle kisses on the cheek before suddenly remembering to give a curtsy, following royal protocol.
