A rare image of Prince William and Kate Middleton walking hand-in-hand outside of Windsor Castle was posted to the Prince and Princess of Wales Instagram Story after the gala, with a caption that read: "Behind The Scenes." And that understandably sent royal fans into a frenzy!
For the gala, the Princess of Wales stunned in a custom Phillipa Lepley gown, made from silk crepe with a floor-length lace overlay embroidered in gold. She accessorizzed with Queen Mary's Lover's Knot tiara – a favorite of hers! – along with diamond drop earrings that once belonged to the late Queen Elizabeth II. She wore her brunette hair down in loose, glossy curls, and finished the look off with a sash featuring her royal orders from both Queen Elizabeth and King Charles.
Prince William looked every inch the future king in a traditional white-tie ensemble and Windsor tailcoat. He wore the blue sash and star of the Order of the Garter, plus stars representing his position as a Knight of the Order of the Thistle and Great Master of the Order of the Bath, respectively. His chest also displayed medals from Queen Elizabeth II's Golden, Diamond, and Platinum Jubilees, as well as King Charles' coronation.
