Kate Middleton Steps Out In Magenta Coat Dress For VE Day Event
On Monday, May 5th, the princess attended an event honoring VE Day, or Victory in Europe Day, alongside her husband and children in London near the Queen Victoria Memorial outside Buckingham Palace. VE Day is a celebration that commemorates the end of the Second World War in Europe.
This year marks 80 years since the historical event, and prominent members of the royal family, including King Charles III, watched this year's festivities, which included a military procession and flypast by the Royal Air Force.
For the springtime weather, Kate wore an eye-catching, long magenta coatdress that fell just above her ankles. Keeping her outfit cohesive, she paired it with a matching magenta fascinator and tan pumps. Her signature dark brown hair was left down and tucked behind her ears, accentuating her diamond jewelry, which had ruby jewels in the middle. The dress was extremely flattering, making her look tall, poised, and, as some fans have said, "classy" for the celebratory historical event.
This was one of the rare official public appearances made by the mom of three this year after announcing that she was in remission from cancer, which she revealed she was diagnosed with in March 2024. She announced she would take it easy as she heals, so seeing her at a proud event for the country was exciting for many royal family fans.
Fans Call Kate Middleton 'Beautiful' And Send Well Wishes Following Her Family's VE Day Appearance
Once photos of the 43-year-old and her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, were shared, fans flooded social media with compliments on her look. They also sent well wishes to her and Prince William's family as the Princess of Wales continues to recover.
"Kate's silhouette game in magenta is next level," wrote a fan on X.
"Classic royal, totally now. Her details always stand out. That's how you make history look fresh."
"Such a beautiful family," added an X user. "She always looks so classy."
Fans echoed similar sentiments on Instagram, where several media outlets and fashion accounts shared the trending photos of Kate and her outfit for fans and followers.
"Bless them," wrote an Instagram user on a photo of the Prince and Princess of Wales and their three kids.
"So special," commented a fan. "What a beautiful family."
Fans around the world are hoping that today's VE Day appearances won't be the last the princess and her family make for a while, as they are happy to see her out and smiling with her family after what must've been a very difficult year. Now, we know we can also look forward to some more fashionable outfits from the royal icon.
