Kate Middleton will hopefully be treating fans to some new, unseen outfits this year, as she slowly returns to public duties after successfully completing her chemotherapy and revealing that she is now in remission from cancer. But that doesn’t mean we can’t get excited about some of her previous sartorial hits, either, as we love going through the archives and revisiting some of our favorite past looks.
The Princess of Wales has stepped out in countless show-stopping outfits over the years; but we just remembered the blue cape gown she wore to the Royal Variety Performance back in 2023, and have fallen in love with it all over again.

Kate Middleton Wears Stunning Cape Gown From One Of Meghan Markle's Favorite Brands At 2023 Royal Variety Performance
The Princess of Wales, who turned 43 earlier this month, wore a jaw-dropping blue Safiyaa cape gown for the Royal Variety Performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London in November 2023.
The dress featured dazzling crystal embellishment at the neckline and sharp shoulders, while the long sleeves had a slit at the elbow and then transformed into a faux, floor-length cape. It really was a work of art!
The mom-of-three accessorized with Gianvito Rossi suede pumps in a matching blue hue, as well as a Jenny Packham silver box clutch, a crystal bracelet, and faux pearl and crystal J. Crew earrings. We love how she mixes and matches high end and high street items!
Meghan Markle In Safiyaa
Meghan Markle has worn Safiyaa, which was founded by Daniela Karnuts in 2011 and describes itself as a "demi-couture brand," on several occasions over the years.
One of our favorite Safiyaa looks from the Duchess of Sussex came when she and the Duke of Sussex walked the red carpet for the Mountbatten Festival of Music at the Royal Albert Hall in 2020. Meghan accessorized the bold red dress, which had a short-sleeved cape at the top, with a red Manolo Blahnik clutch and red suede Stuart Weitzman pumps.
The former Suits actress also wore a Safiyaa dress in an almost identical color to the Princess of Wales' Royal Variety Performance dress when she and Prince Harry appeared at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Fiji in October 2018. (Check out a pic here.) The dress, which was the same color as Fiji's national flag, had short sleeves which extended to a floor-length cape at the back. She accessorized with some stunning statement earrings which were reportedly lent to her by the late Queen Elizabeth II.

A resurfaced TikTok video talks about the Princess of Wales' Royal Variety Performance look, while also referencing some of the previous Safiyaa outfits the American Riviera Orchard founder had worn.

"I'm glad the Princess is supporting this London based brand. She looks fabulous," complimented a fourth, followed by a green heart emoji, as a fifth added: "Absolutely GORGEOUS! Catherine always looks divine… but this color is fantastic on her."
