Katy Perry is opening up about the serious challenges that come with being pregnant during coronavirus.

The 35-year-old pop star is expecting her first child with fiancé Orlando Bloom. While the news is very exciting for the on-again couple who have been dating since 2016, Perry just revealed that she’s experiencing a roller coaster of emotions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Sometimes I don’t know what’s worse, trying to avoid the virus or the waves of depression that come with this new norm," she tweeted on May 12.
The superstar admitted to suffering from depression during a time that is supposed to be filled with so much joy--expecting your first child.
And this isn't the first time the singer has spoken out! Days earlier, Katy joined SHEIN Together livestream event, where she discussed how pregnancy was making her feel incredibly emotional--over nothing.
"I cry when I look down at my toes or I cry when just doing simple tasks," she revealed. "I think a lot of that is hormonal and I'm not used to being around so many people all in a confined in a small space for so long." So hard!

And while she's not using to having so much alone time--"I'm used to going [out] all the time,"--the "Daisies" singer also revealed that she's sought refuge in her car, aka her "safe place." Well, that's one tactic!
Even though it's a difficult and challenging time for Katy, we're so glad that she's sharing her experience with partum mental health struggles. Hopefully just one person will be affected by the message.
