As well as being spotted on a surprising dinner date together, Trudeau was also pictured attending Perry’s Lifetimes concert in Canada with his daughter Ella-Grace, instantly making everyone think that Trudeau and Perry could be an item following her break-up from fiancé Orlando Bloom. According to insiders, Trudeau, 53, and the "Woman's World" singer, 40, were in constant communication over the past few weeks, but now that communication seems to have slowed down or stopped completely. Part of that could be down to their hectic schedules, while some sources believe it's more to do with the former Prime Minister not being entirely comfortable with dating in the spotlight.
"She's busy, he's busy. They have a lot going on, and the newness has worn off," an insider told the Daily Mail, before going on to say that, to their knowledge, nothing bad has actually gone on between the couple, and there are no hard feelings. And they also haven't ruled out things happening in the future, either!
"There's nothing negative about it," the insider continued, adding: "They just aren't in constant communication anymore. That could change, but for now, it is what it is. It has cooled off."
Justin Trudeau Reportedly Isn't Comfortable With The Media Attention That Comes With Dating Katy Perry
One thing that probably won't change though is the media attention their romance would get if they did pick things back up again. And that could be a problem and stop things from getting serious, as the former Prime Minister reportedly isn't comfortable with that level of media attention.
"I know for a fact that Justin wasn't thrilled about the pictures getting out," the insider explained to the outlet, in reference to the snaps of their first date that almost broke the internet. "It was a first date. A first date! And these pictures came out and it became this huge thing, which is not what he seems to have wanted," they went on.
"Katy didn't seem to care nearly as much, but he was the one who was bothered. It didn't chase him away or anything, but it wasn't ideal," the source added.
