Keith Urban Defends His Lyrics
The "Blue Ain't Your Color" singer, who shares daughters Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret with the Nine Perfect Strangers actress, sparked chatter after changing lyrics to a song he reportedly wrote for Kidman and playfully directing them toward his female guitarist, Maggie Baugh, instead.
During one show, he altered the lyrics to "The Fighter" from "When they're tryna get to you, baby I'll be the fighter" to "When they're tryna get to you, Maggie I'll be your guitar player."
He also switched things up during a performance of "You'll Think of Me" at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena during his High and Alive World Tour on October 17th. Instead of the original "But you'll think of me," Urban sang, "But I betcha think about me!" He also changed "Take your space and take your reasons" to "all your bull [expletive] reasons."
In a fan video posted to TikTok, Urban addressed the speculation head-on, insisting the tweaks have nothing to do with his recent relationship drama. "I've been covering like this for a long time," he told the crowd, adding: "Stop reading [expletive] into it. It's called 'You'll Think of Me.'" Yikes!

While many Nicole fans have and we assume will continue to criticize the "Messed Up as Me" singer, many of his own fans came to his defense on social media.
"Tell them Keith!" exclaimed one fan in his defense on Instagram, followed by two hand praising emojis. "Seriously, he does this at almost every concert… come on people," echoed a second.
"Let him be... Geeezzz!" begged a third fan, as a fourth demanded: "Leave him alone! This is hard enough without everyone else's opinion."
