Kelly Clarkson may not have told fans the whole story when she abruptly canceled the first two shows of her highly-anticipated Studio Sessions Las Vegas residency just 90 minutes before the first show was due to start on Friday, July 4th. (The shows will of course be rescheduled to a later date.)
The Kelly Clarkson Show host, 43, told fans on Instagram on July 4th that rehearsals took a toll on her voice and she was therefore unable to perform for the first and second shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in order to protect her voice from “serious damage.” And while that *may* be true, there are reportedly other reasons too…
Why Did Kelly Clarkson Cancel First Las Vegas Residency Shows At The Last Minute?
We know that the mom-of-two is having a hard time at the moment, with reports that she wants to quit her "grueling" award-winning talk show and leave New York, where it is being filmed, for good. Recent reports have suggested that she wants to leave the Big Apple and quit the show in order to pursue other projects, and spend more time with son Remington Alexander and daughter River Rose, both of whom she shares with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock.
According to a Page Six source, in addition to the aforementioned vocal challenges, things going on behind-the-scenes in the "Where Have You Been?" singer's personal life may have also contributed to the Las Vegas cancelations.
"Kelly's personal life is so insanely complicated," the insider dished, adding: "Kelly is fighting some serious hidden battles that very few people are privy to. It's a source of emotional and therefore physical distress for her."

Another insider also confirmed that the "Since U Been Gone" singer's incredible, powerful voice needs to be protected at all costs, which could also contribute to her current stress.
"She belts out every single note. She's an incredibly powerful singer, but it takes its toll on her vocal cords and she's come incredibly close to needing surgery before," the insider explained. "She cannot risk damaging her cords further – she's on thin ice," they added.
