Kelly Clarkson Announces She Will Be Returning To 'The Voice' As A Coach For Season 29

The Voice is officially returning to television, and once again, they're switching things up with the core of the show, changing the famous 'coaches' that mentor and critique the singing contestants. On the show, coaches are responsible for blindly selecting singers to compete in the show and giving them tips and tricks on how to be star vocalists before one singer from each coach's team is selected as the winner.

Kelly was a well-known coach on the show, giving helpful and useful advice while providing witty and fun banter to keep the show going. Fans all over were impressed as she held down her position on The Voice for a few years while hosting her famous talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, but took a brief hiatus from the competition in 2021 and 2023. However, she's making a comeback.

On July 22nd, NBC announced that not only would the "Behind These Hazel Eyes" vocalist be returning to their show, but also former coaches Adam Levine and John Legend. Both male singers have been on the show before, with Adam being one of the original coaches when the show first premiered.

"These icons from Voice seasons past will be competing head to head to head," wrote NBC in a statement. "No rookies. All MVPs. Game, set, match."

Fans React To Kelly's Voice Return On Social Media

Over the last two years, there haven't been many consistent coaches, with the superstar guests and their schedules getting in the way. For instance, two of the most famous figures from the show, who ended up falling in love off-camera, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani, seemed to have officially tapped out from The Voice for now.

However, when it was announced that Kelly would be returning, fans were thrilled, as they have shown a lot of appreciation for her as a coach and believe she brings something valuable to the competition.

Once the announcement of her comeback was posted on social media platforms like Instagram, users flooded the comments section with messages of support and excitement.

"Yay!" wrote one thrilled user. "So happy. I'll watch just for her."

"Kelly is back," commented another.

"Now we all go back to watching it!"

"I'm so happy Kelly is back," added a fan, as another wrote that they were "team Kelly."

One fan wrote, "I'm there for Kelly," echoing the sentiment that watching the show without her wasn't the same.

"Kelly's back!" commented another. "Can't wait!"

It's clear that the mom of two was missed on the singing-based series, and we can't wait to see what kind of coaching comments and potential performances she has in store.
