Kelly Clarkson’s fans have been quite worried about her following the death of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, and she was recently photographed out and about for the first time after his passing. While she didn’t stop to speak to anyone, she wore an accessory that did a lot of talking for her.

The singer-songwriter was photographed outside LAX airport this weekend wearing a Tarot card pendant necklace that, according to the jewelry maker, is a symbol of “healing.” Although she and Brandon reportedly had a “messy” and painful divorce, her two young children lost their father, and she released a statement just before his death that she needed to be there for them. Read more about her jewelry and first public appearance since his passing below.

Kelly Clarkson Makes Her First Public Outing Following Her Ex-Husband, Brandon Blackstock's Death

The "Behind These Hazel Eyes" singer and the talent producer were married from 2013 to 2020, when they filed for divorce. He was the son of Narvel Blackstock, who, back when they met in the early 2000s, was Kelly's manager. The former couple met during a rehearsal for the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2006, but didn't officially start dating until 2012.

After their marriage in 2013, they had two children together, River and Remy, and there were a lot of stories about Brandon supporting and using his talent manager skills to build her career. She often told fond stories of them working together, until in 2020, when a different narrative began building, and the two entered a two-year-long divorce, with the singer expressing that she wanted a peaceful relationship between them to keep their kids happy.

Little did the public know, but Brandon had reportedly been diagnosed with melanoma, which he battled for three years before sadly passing away at his home in Montana on August 7th. Days before, Kelly released an official statement cancelling the remaining dates of her Las Vegas residency, citing that her children's father was "ill," and that she needed to support her kids.

She was seen in public for the first time by photographers this Saturday, dressed in all-black at the LAX airport, looking as though she had been through an extremely difficult time. The pictures of her can be seen here.

Kelly Wore A $22K Tarot Card Necklace That Symbolizes 'Healing' At The Airport

While it was unclear where she was going or what she was up to, the American Idol star wore a monochrome outfit as she loaded luggage onto a cart at the airport, consisting of a large black hat, sunglasses, a black jumpsuit, and a casual black jacket. However, a more notable part of her casual, rightfully comfortable outfit was the necklace she was wearing.

Media outlets discovered she was wearing a Tarot card pendant from Sorellina, a fine jewelry company that creates high-quality necklace pendants, including a Tarot card-themed line. The Tarot card Kelly wore was based on the 'Le Stelle' or 'The Star' card, which, according to Sorellina's website, symbolizes that "even in the darkest of times, there will always come light."

"It serves as a reminder to keep a renewed sense of hope during difficult periods, and your courage will be rewarded," wrote the jewelry brand, which also stated the card stood for "hope, inspiration, positivity, renewal, healing, and rejuvenation."

The necklace pendant costs around $22,500 and has the perfect symbolism for the extremely difficult period the award-winner must be experiencing. Since her ex-husband's death, no matter how complicated their divorce and subsequent court battles were, inside sources have been reporting that she's "devastated" and trying to be as strong as possible for her kids.

"When she found out that he was sick, she remained protective of him for their sake," the source told People magazine. "Kelly has always tried to keep things classy. It became clear earlier this year that Brandon was not doing well. She's been devastated for the kids."
