King Charles reportedly wants to see grandchildren Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet in the U.K. this year – but sources claim he has some conditions that must be met before any reunion can happen.
The King is said to have regrets about how little time he has spent with his youngest grandchildren since they were born. It’s long been reported that he dotes on Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis – with insiders claiming that he would love to build a similar relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s children too. And seeing them at Balmoral, where the King spends much of his summer, would certainly be a great first step.

King Charles Is Reportedly Setting Conditions For A Reunion With Archie And Lilibet
According to reports, King Charles has conditions surrounding any potential meeting with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. However, he isn't the only one said to be setting terms, as Prince Harry reportedly has a list of requirements of his own, meaning any long-awaited family gathering could require compromises from both sides!
The Duke of Sussex has reportedly requested that the Prince and Princess of Wales not be present at the same time, which makes sense as the brothers' feud appears to be far from over! Security is also believed to remain a key issue, as he has long sought enhanced protection before bringing Meghan and their children to the U.K.

Per the Mirror, royal author Ingrid Seward suggested that Balmoral in Scotland would be the most likely location for any reunion due to the privacy it offers and the King's annual summer stay there.
Seward said: "The only place I think they could meet if the King is to get to know, or at least see, his grandchildren, is at Balmoral. It's the only time the King has time, and the Sussexes could be accommodated there because there are lots of cottages on the Estate."
"Harry and Meghan don't have to stay in the castle, although of course they would expect to, but that's fine. They would make sure, obviously, that William and Kate weren't there at the same time," the author clarified. She added: "[Charles] has a private secretary and other staff to deal with all of the details. They'd have them buttoned up as much as you can button them up."

King Charles Was 'Horrified' That Prince Harry Was Using His Kids As A 'Bargaining Tool' In Ongoing Fight For Security
The latest development comes amid ongoing reports that Prince Harry wants enhanced security before bringing his family to the U.K. again.
An insider told London's Sunday Times earlier this year that Prince Harry would have liked an invitation to Sandringham when he goes to the U.K. next month, but maintained that any visit will always be dependent on security arrangements. They claimed that the Spare author needs "an enhanced package of security, so he can stay as long as he wants whenever he wants, and see his father with the children." The insider added: "There is not a world in which he brings the kids back unless there is an enhanced security package around them."
That suggestion reportedly did not go down well within royal circles, with another source saying anyone would be "horrified by any suggestion of using the King's grandchildren as a form of bargaining tool."
