Kylie Jenner is in hot water with fans after her latest promotional video for Kylie Cosmetics. Taking to Instagram to share the ad, Kylie posted a video showing herself getting arrested, and many online users found this more than a bit off-putting considering the ICE raids that have been occurring over the last few weeks. Kylie Jenner's Kylie Cosmetics Ad

In the ad, the mother-of-two is dressed in a low-cut, halter-style black leather bra and matching micro-shorts. She added a pair of translucent black tights, silver hip chains, and black pumps and styled her dark locks in cascading waves. With two police men on either side of her in a back-lit hallway, she struts as if she's on a runway stage.

The video ends with just the words "KING KYLIE," and Jenner teased the return of her King Kylie collection in her caption. While the beauty mogul was likely just trying to reference her more rebellious and edgy days back when she launched Kylie Cosmetics as a teen, for most, it was poor timing.

Social Media Backlash

Across social media platforms, users are calling out Kylie for being "out of touch" with the current state of the world. As many minorities are targeted by ICE offers and arrested, Kylie is toting an ad nearly sexualizing the act of being arrested. "I get it," one person wrote. "It makes sense for the revival of that era but this was in bad taste."

"Read the room," another person agreed.

"This is their playbook," another suggested. "Do anything they can for attention no matter how offensive."

Another user simply wrote, "actually gross," on X, and suggested Kylie was attempting to "recreate the same controversy Kendall went through with the tone-deaf Pepsi ad?"

"Did anyone on her team stop and think it might not be the best time to use police imagery?" a final person asked. "Or are they all this out of touch?"
